High-speed trains
SNCF (Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer) is the French national railways company.
Prices vary depending on the date. The earlier you book, the less you pay.

Cell phone plans
Warning: Unsimlock your cell phone in your own country before you arrive in France.
You can get a monthly service contract so it fits to the length of your stay in France.
Those plans are the cheapest available.

Banks
Opening a bank account in France is free, as well as there is no running or closing fee. But banks may ask you for some documents or can decline opening you an account.

Public transportation
Get the tram and bus network's map. It's is easier though.

Currency exchange
Some non-EU citizens change their currency in their own country. Please note that €500 banknotes are always refused by merchants, in fear of fake ones. And €200 banknotes are often refused for the same reason.
